CWD: MOST OUTSTANDING WATER DISTRICT
The Local Water Utilities Administration (LWUA) handed the Most Outstanding Water District (Nominee) Award to Casiguran Water District (CWD) on September 17, 2018 at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC), Pasay City, on the occasion of LWUA-WD Forum and Awards Night. The award was given in recognition of the District’s outstanding performance for the year 2017.
The award, considered as the highest recognition received by CWD, greatly speaks of the District’s relentless, continuous and dedicated service given to its concessionaires. It is a moral-boosting accolade, nevertheless a challenge for the District to maintain if not to surpass last year’s performance.
The CWD was represented by the General Manager, Engr. Eduardo P. Tejada, during the awarding ceremony. The Hon. Jeci A. Lapus, LWUA Administrator and Hon. Rogelio B. Luy, Chairman LWUA Board of Trustees handed the award to CWD thru GM Tejada.
The awarding of outstanding water districts in the Philippines, considered as LWUA tradition, was revived by Administrator Lapus to give recognition to deserving water districts and to motivate others to follow suit for the ultimate benefit of Filipino people. The last awarding ceremony for water districts was held way back year 2008.
Of the more than thirty (30) water districts in Bicol Region, only six (6) managed to qualify for the prestigious award. The very stringent parameters used includes, but not limited to, financial viability, water quality, reliability and efficiency of service, submission of reports and compliance with the requirements other government agencies.
