CWD JOINS WORLD WATER DAY CELEBRATION

Casiguran Water District joins the celebration of World Water Day at Orok Cold Spring Resort, Inlagadian, Casiguran on March 22, 2022. With the theme – Ground Water: Making the invisible visible, CWD conducted various activities to further promote and emphasize the importance of water.

The celebration’s highlight was the conduct of tree planting activity considered part of Casiguran Water District’s obligation and almost a culture in the agency, with the end in view of preserving the district’s precious watershed. Despite the uncooperative weather, CWD employees flocked to the watershed, traversing slippery hillside in an uneven terrain, planting young trees, if only to assure sustainable water supply.

BOD Chairman Ruiz H. Jersey and GM Eduardo P. Tejada led the group as they encouraged everyone to be vigilant in protecting the watershed. The GM said in his message that the water source of the district is one of those remaining water sources that still yields a constant and substantial volume of safe water.

Vice Chairman Mamerto D. Te emphasized in his message the importance of water in the daily existence of human beings. It is an essential commodity that one cannot live without, the Vice Chair said. Also in attendance were Director Brian B. Espedido and Directress Neney V. Labalan.

The water source of CWD is a spring located at Orok, Inlagadian, at 380 meters above sea level, producing an estimated 400 lps at this time of the year, supplying safe water to Casiguran, Juban, Gubat and portions of Sorsogon City.
