CWD CELEBRATES 30TH FOUNDING ANNIVERSARY
The Casiguran Water District celebrates 30th Founding Anniversary on October 10, 2018 at the CWD Corporate Center. The event, with the theme – “Nature for Water”, was highlighted with Tula Writing and Poster Making Contest for selected Elementary School pupils of Casiguran.
The celebration started at 6:00AM with a Thanksgiving Mass at the Most Holy Rosary of the Virgen Mary Parish. The mass was celebrated by Msgr. Francisco Monje. After the mass, a simple breakfast was served at Aquador’s Hub.
The District, after 30 long years of existence, has considerably grown as an effective, viable and financially healthy Government Owned and Controlled Corporation. As of September 2018, the District is now serving 4,909 active water concessionaires in Casiguran. The District is also serving water in bulk to Gubat Water District, Municipality of Juban and Sorsogon City Water District. It is also operating and maintaining a resort known as Orok Cold Spring Resort.
This year’s celebration was made more special by the award recently given to the District by the Local Water Utilities Administration (LWUA). The District was adjudged as one of the Most Outstanding Water District in the Philippines. This recognition served as in inspiration to the Board of Directors and to the 30 employees manning the District’s day-to-day operation.
