TAGAYTAY CITY, May 24, 2024 — A prestigious Recognition Ceremony was held at Hotel Casiana, Tagaytay City to award Certificate of Water Safety Plan Acceptance to various compliant water districts from different parts of the country.

Engr. Jomar H. Venus, the Head of the Production Section, and Mr. Ralph Louie H. Rafer, the Senior Corporate Accountant, represented Casiguran Water District at this significant event. The ceremony aims to honor and acknowledge the exceptional efforts and commitment of water districts as reflected in a document called – Water Safety Plan, which was laboriously crafted if only to ensure the safety and quality of water from source to tap.

LWUA Chairman of the Board of TrusteesRonnie Ong together with LWUA Deputy Administrator Eillen de la Vega handed the certificate to Engr. Venus and Mr. Rafer. Also present during the awarding ceremony were Graham Harrison of World Health Organization (WHO), Dr. Gerald Belimay of the Department of Health, Annabelle Gravador – Chairperson LWUA WSP Team and Arturo Fernando -LWUA Manager – WSSPDD.

WSP is a pro-active approach to deal with various water quality issues. It identifies and anticipates probable water contamination issues and mandates an in-placed processes and activities to address the same.

CWD was first given WSP Certificate of Acceptance way back 2019. This year’s re-certification manifests CWD’s true resolve through the years to continue and sustain the delivery of safe water to its concessionaires. It is good to note that in Casiguran, water consumers can still drink water direct from the tap.

WSP is also a requirement of the Department of Health (DOH) which considers water as health issue.
