With the theme DPWH @ 126 SERBISYONG MAY BILIS: BUILDING BETTER MORE FOR A NEW PHILIPPINES, the DPWH Sorsogon 1st District Engineering Office celebrated its 126th anniversary on June 22, 2024, at Orok Cold Spring Resort, Inlagadian, Casiguran. In attendance were DPWH 339 staff and employees.

All Department Heads graced the occasion, namely – Engr. Larry B. Reyes, Chief Administrative Section. Engr. Roselle G. Bajaro, Chief of Construction Section. Engr. Joseph H. Bonifacio, Chief Quality Assurance Section Head. Engr. Analyn E. Jacob, Chief Planning and Design Section. Engr. Angelie D. Remolacio, Chief Maintenance Section and, Mr. Ivan D. Manaois Chief Finance Section.

The celebration kicked-off with opening message from Engr. Nida D. Rellama, Assistant District Engineer, and immediately followed by dance competition per department. The first to perform was the Construction Section, followed by Finance Section, Administrative Section, Quality Assurance Section, Planning & Design Section and Maintenance Section. All the performances focus on the “Piliin mo ang Pilipinas theme song” and all came up with festive choreography. The Quality Assurance section was eventually declared as winner based on the results given by the panel of judges.

After all the performances and announcement of winners, Engr. Pricsilla B. Jebulan, OIC District Engineer, gave her inspirational message. She said: “Sa pamamagitan ng pagtutulungan, pagkakaisa at pagpapakita ng husay at dedikasyon sa ating trabaho tayo ay magtatagumpay sa anumang hamon na ating haharapin sa bawat hakbang na ating ginagawa. Tayo’y lumilikha ng isang mas maunlad at mas matatag na Pilipinas para sa susunod na hinaharap”.

The District Engineer also expressed her appreciation to CWD GM Engr. Eduado P. Tejada and to Provincial Engr. Odessa B. Tejada for a warm welcome and accommodation at Orok Cold Spring Resort, making DPWH’s celebration truly a milestone.

Sumptuous food was shared, games were played in the afternoon; everyone enjoyed the place specially the famous ice-cold water of Orok Cold Spring Resort.

The resort is owned and managed by Casiguran Water District with Engr Jomar H. Venus as the current Administrator. He left no stone unturned if only to prepare the facility worthy for DPWH’s very important and historic celebration.
