READ-AND-BILL SYSTEM ROLLS OUT
After the long wait for the Read-and-Bill system to be implemented, as derailed by the present pandemic, the CWD meter readers finally got the training and the needed equipment to implement the system which enable them to read water meters and furnish immediately the billing statement. The training was conducted by representatives from Infomax, an IT Company based Quezon City, on December 16 -17, 2020.
The new system was implemented on January 2021. It is expected to lessen the cost for the District since there will be no more need to input meter readings and deliver the same on the next day. Manpower cost and transportation expenses are expected to be minimized.
Water consumers will also benefit from the system. They will receive the billing statement immediately after the meter reading, thus giving more time to settle their bills, avoiding possible disconnection.
The equipment used now by CWD meter readers for the readings are dedicated cellphone and a compact thermal printer compatible with the existing Billing and Collection for Windows (BCWin) application
The new system is another innovation for the District to adopt and be at par with the best in the industry using the most modern technology available in the market.
