32 YEARS AND COUNTING
For being Thirty Two (32) years in public service, the Casiguran Water District celebrates the occasion with a simple thanks giving mass officiated by Fr. Bilan, the parish priest of Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Church in Casiguran, Sorsogon, on October 9, 2020 at 7:00 AM.
Fr. Bilan in his homily, thanked CWD for celebrating the special occasion with a holy mass. He said, that CWD rightfully choose to first give thanks to the Lord for the blessing received: Celebration of 32nd founding anniversary. Certainly, the CWD cannot last this long without the intervention from above, the parish priest added.
He then reminded the CWD employees together with some members of the Board, the importance of the public service it ought to deliver: steady provision of safe water to its concessionaires. Fr. Bilan said that water is so precious for it sustains life. He added that Casiguran is so blessed that it is still enjoying abundant fresh water from Orok Spring.
After the mass, the CWD employees and BOD members, all dressed with anniversary-T-shirt took some time for photo shoots to record the important event. Sumptuous breakfast was then served at Aquador’s Hub.
Had it not for the present pandemic, CWD could have celebrated the occasion with various programs and activities. In recent years, the occasion is usually highlighted with Poster Making and Poem Writing Contests for elementary pupils. These activities were part of the annual and continuous CWD educational campaign in relation to watershed protection program.
With the national government’s prohibition on holding of events and considering that school children were made to stay at home, the CWD 32nd Founding Anniversary celebration was done in a simplest way possible.
The substance and importance of the occasion was nevertheless preserved. No amount of pandemic can destroy it.
