Monday, 4 November 2024 โ A team of students from Sorsogon State University recently conducted a series of research interviews with employees at Casiguran Water District to research on current tourism activities at Orok Cold Spring resort and at times the so-called overtourism during summer times.
The students, Justin Jay L. Fajardo, Jeonardo P. Jeresano, and Princess Julie Ann G. Grefalda, conducted interviews with CWD employeesโEngr. Jomar H. Venus (Utilities/Customer Service Assistant A), Rolly H. Dela Torre (Driver), and Milkie H. Jetomo (Cashier Aide)โto gain a comprehensive understanding of how over-tourism impacts various aspects of the resortโs operations. In addition to the interviews, the students visited Orok Cold Spring Resort to observe and gather insights from several other resort staff members.
This interview serves as a valuable opportunity to promote Orok Cold Spring Resort, highlighting its unique offerings and attractions to a wider audience. By discussing the resortโs commitment to sustainability, its exceptional amenities, and the efforts being made to address the challenges of over-tourism, the interview helps to raise awareness and encourage future visitors to experience everything the resort has to offer.
Orok Cold Spring Resort is owned and managed by Casiguran Water District. It is considered by many as one of the best-kept secrets of Bicolandia. The revenue generated is being utilized not only for programs and projects to protect the watershed but also to maintain one of the lowest water rates in the country. The facility also generates economic opportunities for local residents in the area.
The operation of the resort is guided by the mantra โ โHarmony with the community, harmony with nature.โ
