The Casiguran Water District, with the support of some groups in Casiguran, planted 987 trees for year 2018. This modest accomplishment was reflected in the records of CWD and duly certified by the local Municipal Environmental Office.
It will be remembered that CWD intensified its effort to protect the water source thru – Watershed Protection Program (WPP) as enunciated in BOD Resolution No. 2018 – 06 dated February 22, 2018 in time for the 2018 World Water Day annual celebration.
The table below shows the whole-year round CWD-led tree planting activities. The program was implemented “silently,” without fanfares and away from media’s “naked eyes.”
GM Tejada expressed satisfaction on the output of the WPP. He said that the coming generation in Casiguran may give fair judgements on the efforts being spearheaded to protect the Inlagadian watershed, to protect and sustain Orok Spring.
